At the IAA Commercial Vehicles Fair in Hannover (23-30 September 2010), Opel will unveil a research project on a Vivaro e-Concept, an electric van with up to 400 kilometers (249 miles) extended range. There, the lithium ion battery modules are protected from the weather. The e-Concept is conceived to have 5.0 —Chris Lacey.

In the autumn TfL will be trialing inductive charging technology that will enable special extended range diesel electric hybrid buses to wirelessly charge their batteries while they wait at bus stands. In addition, there are eight hydrogen buses operating on route RV1, between Covent Garden and Tower Gateway.

GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. Batteries not ready.
