Denmark leads the way when it comes to putting zero-emission urban buses on the streets in Europe, with 78% of new vehicles being electric, according to the latest data from green NGO Transport & Environment. In Luxembourg and the Netherlands about two-thirds of new buses were zero-emissions.

As part of the electric offensive, Mercedes-Benz Cars counts on local emission-free vehicles. This corresponds to about three quarters of the required electricity in the German plants. Any resulting CO 2 -emissions are offset by qualified environmental projects. The decision also fits with our overall strategy.

The plan is in full support of the net-zero carbon emissions targets set by Stellantis during the Dare Forward 2030 long-term strategic plan.

MAN is already well on its way to developing an electric distribution truck, the eTGM, which is scheduled to go into series production in 2021. We plan to deliver the first nine fully electric trucks to our customers in Austria by the end of 2017 – including large supermarket chains, breweries and haulers.
