It’s a little scary to recall that when iRobot last released an update to the Create DIY/educational robot platform, the calendar read 2014 (!). Happy National Robotics Week!

Unlike battery electric vehicles a full tank of air will stay more or less full for a long time, they have very low discharge rates. Again compared to battery electrics the storage medium (tank) is not limited by a shelf life or number of cycles and therefore reduces waste. It can even run underwater if need be!

While the industry is unregulated some of the lads started using electric motors (hub motors) similar to those produced by golden motor and run these pedicabs on the lead acid or gel batteries. The big problem was that these rickshaws weighted around 140kg with the batteries and could not be classified as a cycles but motor vehicles.

Paradox 1 - Soot: There's an apparent emissions paradox with plug-in hybrids (PHEV): Driving longer distances on battery power means more cold starts as the internal combustion engine (ICE) stops and starts up again after the batteries deplete. Third-party and DIY converters can't muck with every system on a car.

If you want it to perform like a sports car instead of a slug in a sportscars skin, youre going to need that 10k for the ac drive system alone, and then maybe another 15k for a lithium battery pack. The benefit of a higher voltage connector has nothing to do with the speed at which the battery will charge it has to do with the conductor size. like i said in the first place, for me, this makes me think of one step in the right direction and makes me think of a greener cleaner future. excluding coal power in china.
