Hyundai has taken two out of the ten spots in the 2019 WardsAuto 10 Best Engine competition with the all-new 2019 NEXO FCEV fuel cell vehicle and 2019 Kona Electric CUV. This marks the tenth time Hyundai has earned a WardsAuto 10 Best Engine recognition since the awards’ annual inception in 1995. Kona Electric.

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the all-new Sonata Hybrid in Seoul, Korea. The new Sonata Hybrid features an upgraded powertrain incorporating a new hybrid system with a new gasoline direct injection engine that delivers fuel economy of 18.2 The 38 kW electric motor also delivers maximum torque of 205 N·m (151 lb-ft).

Hyundai introduced the Hybrid version of the seventh-generation Sonata at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Hyundai expects the 2016 Sonata Hybrid to improve fuel economy more than 10%. Sonata Hybrid will be built at Hyundai’s Asan, South Korea assembly plant and will go on sale early this summer.

Since I was attending the Detroit Auto Show, I could replicate my UK trip for comparison. My goal was to head north to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, then west to Fargo, ND, and back to Detroit via Iowa. Thoughts on the Kia EV6 Between them, the Kia EV6 and its twin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 , have captured many awards.

Hyundai will introduce a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle to the market in 2012, according to Dr. Byungsoon Min, of Hyundai Motor Company R&D Center, presenting at the SAE 2010 Hybrid Vehicle Technologies Symposium in San Diego this week. Hyundai will launch its full parallel hybrid Sonata in the US this year.
