On 11 August, GM invited approximately 75 journalists and auto analysts to spend a day learning about the new GM. The day was split between a morning session at the GM tech center in Warren and an afternoon session at the GM proving grounds in Milford, MI. GM’s identify in the US starts with its four core brands.

Ignoring the briefly popular commercial electrics around at the turn of the last century, EVs have been experimental concepts or limited edition runs until relatively recently. GM is bringing back the Hummer brand as an EV within the GMC brand. GM, shifting focus to pure EVs, built the last Volt on February 19, 2019.

Alfa Romeo Tonale – the Italian brand finally has a rechargeable car in its ranks in the form of the Tonale PHEV compact SUV. Aston Martin DBX PHEV and EV – electrified versions of AM’s first SUV on the cards. No surprises there are promises of big performance for a PHEV due late in 2022 or early 2023.
