‘EV values plummet’ has been a regular headline in overseas media this year, as electric car resale values tumble in major markets like the US and UK. America and Europe have more mature EV markets than us, meaning thousands of pre-loved electric cars have popped up on their used car classifieds.

Nissan is about to drink GM’s milkshake with a breakthrough, affordable, next generation electric car that will be beat the Chevy Volt to market, cost half as much and work twice as well. Too bad for America our corporations long ago outsourced that kind of effort and heart. Plus it looks ten times cooler. Really Ford?

Not everyones convinced there’s a market for them all, but that doesn’t seem to have dulled enthusiasm. In some form possibly , especially since Tesla reduced the external dimensions of the Cybertruck, making it more likely for export markets such as Australia. It has now re-established it as an electrified sub-brand of GMC.

As it says on their website , they “created a new market category for smart electric two-wheeler vehicles.”. The model featured at the event showcased a single-speed belt-drive and a 250W Bafang hub motor setup; however, the model coming to North America will likely have a 500W motor instead. Now they’re unveiling the KQi2.

No Australian plans yet, with the company focusing on America first then Europe. BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. Chevrolet Bolt EUV – SUV version of Bolt hatchback on sale in America but unlikely in Australia. Soon, apparently. Chery has big plans for Australia.
