Adopted in 2014, AFID ( Directive 2014/94/EU ) creates the framework for the development of an alternative fuels infrastructure in Europe, including electricity for electric vehicles as well as hydrogen for fuel cells and LNG for shipping. The law should also set a target of around 1,000 hydrogen stations by 2029.

These projects put more than 9,000 alternative fuel and energy-efficient light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles on the road, and establish 542 refueling locations across the country. The project will deploy 502 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles through 119 public and private fleets throughout the state.

The California Energy Commission recently approved seven awards totaling $29,675,072 and that are funded through the Commission’s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (AB 118), completing the first two years of the program funding cycle. In two packages of awards, the California Energy Commission approved more than $44 million to expand the hydrogen fueling infrastructure and increase the number of alter alternative fuel vehicles on the road in the state. Air Liquide Industrial US LP, will receive $1.5 Alternative fuel vehicles awards.
