Canada-based Alternative Fuel Systems Inc., together with Indian partner Advantek Fuel Systems Pvt. is working with Bajaj Auto Limited on a development project involving the compressed natural gas fuelled version of a three-wheeled commercial delivery vehicle.

The 1,900 flex-fuel and hybrid vehicles from GSA will bring the total number of alternate fuel-capable vehicles in the Postal Service fleet to more than 43,000 (about 19.6%). The Postal Service has increased alternative fuel use by 41% since 2006, and plans to reduce petroleum use by 20% over the next five years.

At the 69 th IAA Commercial Vehicles show, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is unveiling five new zero-emission vehicles:the I.D. BUZZ CARGO, ABT e-Transporter, ABT e-Caddy, the Cargo e-Bike and the Crafter HyMotion which is equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell drive system. Market introduction of the three-wheel cycle will be in 2019.

Under current law, a credit is available for each new qualified fuel cell vehicle, hybrid vehicle, advanced lean burn technology vehicle, and alternative fuel vehicle placed in service by a taxpayer during the taxable year. In general, the credit amount varies based on technology, weight, fuel efficiency, and other factors.
