Along with its release of some new BEVs like the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX, both produced in partnership with GM, it has also come out with a unique fuel cell plug-in hybrid version of its CR-V. Honda doesn’t build actual trucks, it’s just looking to supply the fuel cell systems to be used on a truck made by a large truck manufacturer.

And it is looking through that lens that I wanted to dive into GM’s most recent electric vehicle “supply” promise. On January 28 GM announced that it plans (aspires) to exclusively offer electric vehicles by 2035, ending production of its cars, trucks and SUVs with diesel- and gasoline-powered engines.

Much of that 40% EV battery cost drop could carry over to pricing—leading to price parity with gasoline models sooner, without subsidies.
