The improved Honda Sensing 360 system will begin rolling out in the second half of the decade and will be standard on all new Honda and Acura models in the US by 2030. The Acura version of Honda Sensing 360 will bear the AcuraWatch name. Specific launch plans for the next generation of Honda Sensing Elite have not yet been announced.

Honda also will highlight other latest advancements in “V2X” technologies, including vehicle-to-pedestrian/bicycle (V2P/B) and vehicle-to-motorcycle (V2M). Automated Highway Driving: an 8-mile freeway loop in the downtown Detroit area will provide attendees with an automated driving experience in a real-world traffic environment.

New research from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is claiming that forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking are less successful at identifying trucks and motorcycles. However, motorcycles only benefited 41 percent of the time and trucks 38 percent. The effect on fatalities could be substantial too.
