Magna has been awarded a contract to manufacture an all-new INEOS Automotive electric off-road vehicle, expected to start production in Graz, Austria in 2026. In addition to manufacturing, Magna will also be responsible for the engineering of the complete vehicle.

The battery packs originate from the first field trial with battery-electric distribution trucks from MAN, which began in Austria in 2018 and lasted three years. In the current project, the focus is on energy storage systems for industrial companies (e.g. peak shaving, means balancing charging peaks).

With these latest vehicles, DB Schenker will become FUSO’s largest electric fleet customer with a total of 41 eCanter vehicles in daily operations. DB Schenker has already been using the FUSO eCanter in Berlin since 2018 delivering packaged goods in the city center.
