Aptera claims to have raised enough money in a recent crowdfunding campaign to start production of its solar-assisted three-wheeled EV, but the company is still far from assured of success. The following October Aptera said the EV was getting closer to production , and that some manufacturing equipment had been procured.

The battery pack manufacturing joint venture by the three companies will provide a stable supply of lithium-ion battery packs in India. The joint venture company will be established within 2017 and will move to manufacturing phase at earliest possible timing. Frost & Sullivan does not see this as a problem. Km/L to 24.5
