Chevrolet and GMC will offer new bi-fuel versions of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra heavy-duty trucks and all-new dedicated compressed natural gas versions of the 2014 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size passenger vans next year. The vehicles are fully warranted and validated by GM.

The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon ( earlier post ) will offer segment-leading highway fuel efficiency for four-cylinder mid-size pickup trucks, according to EPA fuel economy estimates. The Colorado and Canyon began shipping to dealers last week. The Canyon will also offer segment-leading payload ratings.

GM’s medium-sized Chevrolet, GMC and Buick crossovers, which were redesigned for the 2014 model year, were up 14% compared with last July, led by a 25% increase in Chevrolet Traverse deliveries. Combined sales of Chevrolet and GMC large SUVs, which are all new for the 2015 model year, were up 25% compared with a year ago.

Power 2015 US Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. The overall APEAL score has increased by 4 points year over year to 798 in 2015. Only 15% of owners say they have had previous experience with blind-spot warning systems, and only 39% say their dealer explained the feature to them upon vehicle delivery.

Bi-fuel options, allowing either compressed natural gas or gasoline to power the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD pickups, will start at $9,500. The bi-fuel CNG option will be available on all 2015 Silverado and Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD single-rear-wheel models.
