Mercedes-Benz Cars is starting construction of its first “Full-Flex Plant“ in Kecskemét, Hungary, about 90 km in the south of Budapest. With an investment of one billion euros, we are building in Hungary the first ‘Full-Flex Plant’ in the global production network of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Vredestein was founded in 1908 to design and manufacture bicycle tyres in Loosduinen in the Netherlands. Building momentum over the first few years of operation, the company diversified into the production of car tyres in 1912.

Mercedes-Benz’ new compact car plant in China, housed at the company’s local production joint venture Beijing Benz Automotive Corporation (BBAC), has begun production with the German car maker’s first locally build compact car: the GLA. The GLA is, after the GLK, the second SUV that is manufactured in China.

In 2015, Rastatt plant management and works council reached an agreement for competitiveness and future development and agreed to produce the next Mercedes-Benz compact car generation in Rastatt. The A-Class, B-Class and the compact SUV GLA are manufactured at the location.

For Audi, these are the driverless transport systems (DTS), which began testing at Ingolstadt in 2015. At its Győr engine plant in Hungary, Audi is developing a possible future production process for the electric drive motor to be used in the 2018 C-BEV. Earlier post. A central computer controls the DTS activity, albeit flexibly.
