Hyundai Motor recently signed an initial agreement to create a joint venture with Baotou Bei Ben Heavy-Duty Truck Co., Under the agreement, Hyundai and Baotou Bei Ben Heavy-Duty Truck Co. Hyundai will initially focus on heavy-duty trucks with a sales target of 100,000 units in China by the year 2014.

The outfit aims to manufacture vehicles in the USA and employ as many as 2,600 workers there by 2014. The company, which was founded by former Hyundai executive Yung Gi Lee, hopes to establish headquarters and a manufacturing facility in one of Alabama, California, Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina.
