The new fueling station is designed to support the recent addition of 56 new CNG-powered collection trucks that serve customers throughout greater Long Beach, California. The new fueling station is Republic’s second alternative fuels facility in Long Beach.

A Foss Maritime Company’ Green Assist hybrid tug ( earlier post ) has joined the Foss fleet for the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, California. The 2009 incentives will be used to help bring trucks into service at the Port that run on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), or lithium-ion battery electric power. This initiative follows a 2008 incentive program that put into service more than 2,200 trucks that currently meet or exceed 2007 US EPA emission standards.
