Life Cycle Analysis will be performed by Michigan Tech University. In 2008, UOP received a $1.5 million grant from the DOE to develop economically viable technology to stabilize pyrolysis oil from second generation biomass feedstocks for use as a renewable fuel source. The facility is projected to start up in 2012.
