It's the episode electric car enthusiasts have been itching to see- and now the guys at BBC motoring show Top Gear have tested two electric cars to see whether they make any sense for the car buying public. First, they tested the Tesla Roadster in December 2008.

A Tesla Roadster may not have really whirred to a halt in the 2008 episode of Top Gear - since at the center of a long, drawn out legal battle - but the maker's court case against the BBC programme is definitely running out of juice.

It’s been two weeks since Californian electric automaker filed papers against the BBC’s Top Gear for libel in relation to a segment the popular entertainment show did on Tesla’s all-electric Roadster back in 2008.

A high court judge ruled that the BBC show did not imply that Tesla misled motorists by claiming its Roadster car had a 200 mile range. The show first broadcast in 2008, showed the Tesla Roadster being tested [.]. Electric sport car firm Tesla has lost an important part of its libel lawsuit against Top Gear.

The news unveiled by the BBC this week that children are at greater risk from harmful small particles in traffic pollution will have alarmed many motorists. In 2008 we saw an increase of 36 per cent in the number of LPG conversions carried out year on year. The number of LPG vehicles is travelling in the right direction.
