In the UK, Hyundai Motor has launched a gasoline and diesel scrappage and trade-in scheme that offers up to £5,000 (US$6,416) off the price of a new model and seeks to improve air quality across the UK by making it easier and more affordable to drive a new, lower emission car. i10 will also benefit from £1,500 saving.

We’re just days away from the full implementation of the vehicle scrappage scheme and several providers have announced their participation in the Government backed project. Volkswagen has also announced its scrappage scheme offers. The scrappage scheme comes into effect on May 18.

Proton introduced the GEN-2 ecoLogic to the UK car market in October 2008. For the average motorist driving 12,000 miles a year, this equates to a saving of around £670.
