They wanted to see whether an electric vehicle could feed electricity back to the grid. The company’s president, Tom Gage , dubbed the system “vehicle to grid” or V2G. For the utilities, it promised an economical way of meeting rising demand for electricity. AC Propulsion’s experiment was timely.

He was pontificating on an all-electric composite Hypercar using rechargeable batteries back in 2000. Tesla licensed the technology.”

Volvo has some of the most aggressive goals when it comes to brand-wide electrification, and the new C40 Recharge is a big step in its electric charge towards zero emissions. It might share its underpinnings with an ICE vehicle, but it will only ever be sold as an electric vehicle. No half-measures here, then.

Like a lot of people, I've been thinking about trading in my car. The case, morally and even financially, for an all-electric car is becoming stronger and stronger. And yet, what about recharging? A lot of current and upcoming electric cars are in the 300-mile range. And otherwise, it's a single shot.

Both ministers drove a MINI E electric car at the event as they announced plans to support motorists by providing help worth £2000-£5000 towards buying their first electric or plug-in hybrid car when they hit the showrooms. The rechargeable battery is made up of 5,088 cells grouped into 48 modules.
