Ice core data show why air pollution is dropping more slowly in US and Western Europe despite lower sulfur emissions

A new study led by Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), Hokkaido University and the University of Washington explains why. The data came from an ice core drilled in southeast Greenland (SE-Dome) as part of a project led by Hokkaido University. The open-access paper on the results is published in Science Advances.
