Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards and PBF Chalmette Refinery Manager Steven Krynski announced that the company is studying the possible conversion of an idled refinery unit into a renewable diesel production complex. The company also is expected to utilize the state’s Quality Jobs and Industrial Tax Exemption programs.

Operations are underway at the Dynamic Fuels plant, which is successfully converting non-food grade animal fats and greases into high quality renewable fuels. The facility’s renewable diesel fuel product meets all ASTM D975 specifications for diesel fuel. Dynamic Fuels is a 50:50 joint venture between Syntroleum and Tyson Foods.
