This was exactly what happened when a Tesla Model Y lined up against an AMG Mercedes GLE SUV in a drag racing event in Las Vegas. As the light turned green, the AMG SUV shot forward while the Model Y reversed back. Quite amazingly, the Model Y actually caught up to the AMG SUV at the latter parts of the race.

According to new CEO Antonio Filosa, production of Jeep’s first EV, the Wagoneer S SUV, is expected to begin in Q2. Jeep’s first EV in the US, the Wagoneer S SUV, is expected to enter production in the second quarter. Ahead of its official launch, Jeep is hyping the electric SUV with new teasers.

In Utah the posted limit is 80 mph and for many drivers that was only a suggestion. We set the cruise control to 72 mph when on the freeway. A comparable SUV, such as a 2023 Ford Explorer AWD with the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and an EPA highway rating of 26 miles per gallon, would have used 69 gallons of gasoline.

Clean Fleet Report spent several hours on a beautiful December Las Vegas day driving the 2023 Kia EV6 GT. seconds, the 1/4 mile at 118 mph and, if you’re daring enough to do so, spin the dual electric motors to their maximum of 161 miles per hour. 0-60 mph: 7.2 Electronically controlled top speed: 115 mph.

There will be a total of four models: a four-door coupe, a shooting brake (station wagon) and two SUVs. Pricing has not been announced.

Three vehicles are based on Hyundai’s next-generation fuel cell electric SUV NEXO, scheduled to be released in Korea next month, and the other two are Genesis G80 autonomous vehicles. This is the first time that level 4 autonomous driving has been achieved with fuel-cell-electric vehicles. Five Hyundai vehicles completed the journey.
