Capstone Turbine To Unveil Prototype Microturbine Range-Extended Electric Supercar at LA Auto Show

When the batteries reach a predetermined state of discharge, the Capstone C30 microturbine fires up and recharges the batteries on the fly to extend the driving range up to 500 miles. The US DOE and BIRD selected a product development effort by Capstone Turbine and Israel’s HelioFocus Ltd. seconds and has a top speed of 150 mph.
