Hyundai unveiled the redesigned 2018 Sonata Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid models at the Chicago Auto Show. Although the powertrains remain the same, the new Sonata Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid feature a comprehensive exterior and interior redesign, safety, suspension and new and improved infotainment and connectivity features.

(TMS) announced that New York City will join the company’s US Prius Plug-in Hybrid vehicle (PHV) demonstration program. As part of the demonstration program, two Prius Plug-in Hybrid vehicles will be handed over to the NYCDOT and three to the Port Authority to be used in their fleets.

Toyota has reduced the MSRP on the 2014 Prius Plug-in Hybrid by more than $2,000, making the starting MSRP $29,990 (excluding dealer preparation and handling, DPH). The CVRP program offers rebates to individuals, business owners, non-profit groups, and government entities that purchase or lease new eligible zero-emission or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. While in EV Mode, the Prius Plug-in is rated by the EPA to drive up to 11 miles. The base MSRP for the Prius Plug-in Hybrid is $32,000.

The HUMMER H3 was commissioned by Raser ( earlier post ) as part of its lead role in the Plug-in Hybrid Development Consortium , formed in 2005. The Raser Technologies scalable plug-in series hybrid design in the Hummer H3 provides 40+ miles all-electric range. Acceleration from 0-60 mph takes less than 9 seconds.
