Honda have produced the Honda FCX Clarity FCEV, a hydrogen powered Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV), which they are leasing in limited numbers to selected customers in specially selected locations only. There are several reasons for this approach and understanding a little more about fuel cell vehicles may explain why.

To put it another way, instead of splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen with electricity, these two components are joined to make water and electricity The electricity is then utilized to power the car’s drive train, leaving just water as a waste product. The oxygen comes from the air, while the hydrogen comes from a tank.

It ispleasingly quick but will still only manage 150 miles between charges, muchless than a tank of petrol, even if it costs only £1.50 Matt Gentry, Aransas Pass , Tx, United States Instead of wasting time and money on an obvious SPIN Idea the government should put money into R&D. to charge overnight.

So much more convenient than having to take time out of my day and go out of my way (wasting more energy) to get a charge elsewhere or do battery swaps. and your Honda/Sony car will be perfectly happy with any Durcell/Energizer pack just like AA calls in your flashlight. No single vehicle does it all even in todays petrol world.

GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. Honda has probably sold more Civics in a year than the combined total of all 18 of those GM models. If the EV1 was viable (or even close) we would see Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc all with 80 mile cars right now.do you see that?
