The Iraq and Afghanistan wars are consuming more fuel than any other wars in US history and so it’s understandable that officials are now reducing their consumption and embracing energy alternatives.

From FY 2003 to FY 2007 in Iraq and Afghanistan, a total of more than 3,000 Army personnel and contractors were wounded or killed in action from attacks on fuel and water resupply convoys. This includes the civilian electrical grid in the United States, which powers some fixed installations that directly support military operations.

Vehicle to Grid (V2G) technology is a bi-directional electric grid interface that allows a plug-in to take energy from the grid or put it back on the grid.
