Daimler AG and leading energy companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Berlin, with the participation of the German Minister of Transport, Wolfgang Tiefensee, to evaluate and expand the setup of a hydrogen infrastructure in Germany to support the series production of fuel cell electric vehicles. It seems a spark is needed to get us back to the showrooms – so are the leading manufacturers right to put their faith in green cars? However, the company’s bright spark remains its green efforts. Honda too has pinned its recovery hopes on green cars, pushing both hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell technology.

My Honda Civic averages 34+ MPG over a year period. The only other similar alternative is hydrogen and the economics on those cars are even worst so far. It’s all too easy… and about 1/1,000,000 th the effort of installing a hydrogen infrastructure from scratch! With a 55KWH battery, range is only 157 miles.
