China is planning to allot half the total transportation energy consumption to electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles that primarily use energy other than petrol by 2020 while India has placed a clear focus on diffusing electric vehicles due to its own environmental issues.

China’s fourth largest car manufacturer Chongqing Changan Automobile Co and Orbital Corporation Limited have formed a joint development to work on a concept engine. Currently, FlexDI is only applied in non-automotive applications such as motorcycles, outboard engines and ATVs.

The first version of the CR-Z appeared in Tokyo back in 2007 and now the aim is to put the vehicle on sale by 2010 when it will be the first series-produced sports hybrid car from a major manufacturer. It will also be the first petrol-electric vehicle to use a six-speed manual transmission.

Suzuki is set to exhibit two new exciting green car concepts at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month, a Swift with Plug-in Hybrid system and an SX4 Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV). The type of petrol engine used for the Hybrid is similar to the 3-cylinder 658 cc fitted to the compact and low tax ‘Kei’ cars in Japan. .

Theyre not trying to send men to the moon, theyre building an ELECTRIC CAR that uses a petrol motor they already make charging batteries supplied by LG all bolted into a vehicle platform they also already have in production.
