There are choices for 110 volt versus 220 volt, slow versus quick charges, and solar options. They are either glorified golf cart city cars like this one or they are only for the very wealthy like the Tesla. Today we could be using lead-acid EVs, lead-carbon-acid EVs, or nickel metal hydride or lithium-ion hybrids.

One thing is for sure; - electric cars bring down the air pollution, but they sure create another waste pollution problem. at least, the recycling infrastructure for the well-established lead-acid batteries is robust. None of the new electric cars are planning to use old-tech lead acid batteries. In the U.S.

80 miles was the range of the EV1 with Lead Acid batteries, that GM tried to use because they wanted the project to fail. You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart. it was the first batch of EV1s that they tried to use lead acid batteries and developed problems. check your facts.
