GM has been saying for a while now that they had picked their supplier for the LiIon battery in the Volt, but they weren’t prepared to announce who it was. Chances are, GM will start with CP (hey, those are Chris Paine’s initials!), GM Reported Ready To Give Volt Battery Nod to Unit of LG Chem. that got the nod.

An empty Volt pack will take 10 hours to fully recharge; an empty LEAF about 20 hours. Recharge time will usually be much less than what it takes to go from empty to full. They’ve kept my LEAF juiced, after all. All plug-in cars these days come with a 120-volt charge cord. Until the next morning or just an hour or two?
