International automotive supplier Continental is calling for a market-based adaptation of the legal framework for automated driving. The accord calls for action to hold mean warming of the Earth’s surface to no more than 2 ºC above pre-industrial levels, but does not define reductions in greenhouse gases that might be employed to achieve that goal.

With a functioning AfCFTA, the DRC can receive other upstream mineral inputs needed for lithium-ion batteries—such as manganese from, say, South Africa and Madagascar, copper from Zambia, graphite from Mozambique and Tanzania, phosphate from Morocco, and lithium from Zimbabwe, to name but a few.
