intends to conduct a voluntary safety recall of potentially 17,000 2010 model year Lexus HS 250h hybrid vehicles to address a compliance issue with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 301. As part of its annual compliance testing program, the NHTSA recently conducted a test of the 2010 model year HS 250h.

The Sai, based on the platform also used for the Lexus HS 250h ( earlier post ), is planned to go on sale in Japan on 7 December. The Sai offers fuel efficiency of 23.0 Under the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s JC08 test cycle, the Sai has fuel efficiency of 19.8 Toyota Motor Corp.

Last summer, when we first drove the 2010 Lexus HS 250h luxury hybrid--and then did a full test drive--we were quite puzzled by it. Neither as fuel efficient as a hybrid nor as elegant and refined as other Lexus models, it seemed neither fish nor fowl.
