U Oregon researchers use machine learning algorithms to provide bicyclists with Green Wave capability; communicating with traffic signals

The current project attempts to use two deep-learning algorithms, LSTM and 1D CNN, to tackle time-series forecasting. The FastTrack project developed a real-time display for non-actuated signals showing GLOSA (Green Light Optimized Speed Advisory) information–more often referred to as a “green wave”. We’re encouraged by the results.

A white paper by AMPLY Power, a company providing fleet charging as a service, finds that 25 of America’s largest metropolitan areas could save an average of 37% on fuel costs by electrifying their bus and light-duty vehicle fleets. For both light duty and buses, AMPLY found Atlanta’s DPGe for fleet vehicles to be $1.85.
