It appears that this engine was not legal for sale in high-altitude areas.

Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC (HMIN) began production of the natural gas-powered 2009 Civic GX at its plant in Greensburg, Indiana. It is the only natural gas powered passenger car available for sale in all 50 states, and is eligible for a $4,000 federal tax credit as a qualified alternative fuel vehicle.

Volvo Cars will extend its range of compact cars into new segments based on its new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA)—a smaller version of Volvo’s Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) ( earlier post ). Volvo Cars will also develop an entirely new range of electrified smaller cars and build a fully electric car for sale by 2019.

Honda unveiled the new 10th-generation 2016 Civic Sedan, slated for sale in the US this fall. Both engines are targeted to receive EPA highway fuel economy ratings in excess of 40 mpg. Additional powertrain details and specifications will be announced closer to launch.
