Tenneco is leveraging its expertise in diesel particulate filter (DPF) technology to develop gasoline particulate filters for 2017 model year light vehicles. Diesel particulate filters for original equipment applications remove particulate matter from engine exhaust gases in a closed system.

Variable-geometry, sequential twin-scroll turbochargers are powered by the exhaust gases, while a third electric supercharger—powered by Bentley’s innovative 48V system—spools up within 30 microseconds to eliminate turbo lag. The next-generation 4.0-liter liter V8 engine is mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

Like electric cars, electric bicycles are classified as zero-emission vehicles, meaning they emit no exhaust gases. It is no sweat to restart, so the temptation to zip through a red traffic light, menacing people as you do so, is removed. If the manufacturers have no surprises up their exhaust pipes the car will be practical and reasonably priced. clip Unfortunately, the streets of North America may never see the Air Car, though; it's light-weight, glued-together fiberglass construction might not do so well in our crash tests. It just doesn't have an electric motor.
