Ecotec engine had the fuel injectors mounted to inject fuel into the intake ports. This design supports improved performance, emissions and fuel economy over the previous combustion system. The phasers turn the camshaft relative to the drive sprocket, allowing intake and exhaust valve timing to be adjusted independently.
