2013 Honda Fit EV receives EPA fuel economy rating of 118 MPGe; highest yet

The 2013 Honda Fit EV ( earlier post ) received a combined adjusted Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mile-per-gallon-equivalency (MPGe) rating of 118 MPGe—the highest yet awarded by the EPA. Hyundai introduces 2018 Sonata Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid models at Chicago Auto Show

The Sonata Plug-in Hybrid will be distributed in California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont, but customers in any of the other states can custom order the vehicle at their local Hyundai dealer. The transmission uses an electric oil pump, which helps improve efficiency.

Honda revealed its all-new Clarity Plug-in Hybrid and Clarity Electric ( earlier post ) alongside the already available Clarity Fuel Cell ( earlier post ), saying it will target US sales of 75,000 Clarity vehicles in the first four model years. Honda expects the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid will earn an EPA fuel economy rating of 105 MPGe combined.

Honda unveils 2013 Fit EV; expects about 1,100 units in US over next 3 years

Honda unveiled the all-new 2013 Fit EV at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and announced plans to begin leasing the battery electric commuter vehicle in the US in the summer of 2012. American Honda will begin leasing the Fit EV to customers in select California and Oregon markets next summer, and will expand to six East Coast markets in early 2013.

Toyota introduces 2012 Prius Plug-in Hybrid
