The energy management system will make it possible to control the consumption, storage, and discharge of electricity, as well as increase usage efficiency. The fixed electricity storage system has been undergoing verification tests conducted at the Nagoya Toyopet Otagawa dealership and other locations since February of last year.

Sanyo To Build 30B Plant For Automotive Li-Ion Batteries

In 2008, Volkswagen and Sanyo announced a partnership to work on next-generation high-performance automotive electric storage systems based on lithium-ion technology. Sanyo has agreed to be acquired by Panasonic, which currently provides NiMH packs to Toyota and is developing Li-ion packs through its PEVE joint venture.
