Five vehicle projects will benefit – these are: Advanced power semiconductor and packaging: A grant of $6,733,383 has been given to Delphi Automotive and International Rectifier to work with Oak Ridge National Laboratory to bring a new power electronics technology to the prototype stage. They have received a grant of $4,462,162.

Companies and universities in Michigan are receiving more than $1 billion of the grants. Large automakers based in Michigan, including GM, Chrysler, and Ford, will receive a total of more than $400 million to manufacture thousands of advanced hybrid and electric vehicles as well as batteries and electric drive components.
