The US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy today released the 2010 Fuel Economy Guide, which gives consumers information about estimated fuel costs and mileage standards for model year 2010 vehicles. For MY 2010, the Prius is the top fuel economy leader , with EPA ratings of 51/48 mpg city/highway.

Fuel economy numbers reported by Clean Fleet Report are non-scientific and represent the reviewer’s driving experience. non-turbo, fuel economy estimates are 30 mpg city/37 highway/37 combined. In both cases, the emissions have been reduced and fuel economy and performance increased compared to the 2021 Civic.

The Toyota Prius has come a long way since it debuted 22 years ago, as the second hybrid car to be sold in the United States (after the first generation Honda Insight). Toyota says the lithium-ion battery is 15% more efficient and weighs less, both of which are key for getting high fuel economy and increased driving range.
