The US Environmental Agency (EPA) has granted California’s waiver request enabling the state to enforce its greenhouse gas emissions standards (Pavley I) for new motor vehicles, beginning with the current model year. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson. mpg in 2016 (39 mpg for cars, 30 mpg for trucks), or approximately 250 grams CO 2 /mile.

The CVRP program offers rebates to individuals, business owners, non-profit groups, and government entities that purchase or lease new eligible zero-emission or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. These grants are available when a vehicle is either purchased or leased for 36 months or longer.

Transit agencies began submitting their proposals after the FTA announced rules for the Transit Investments for Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction (TIGGER) grant program as part of the Recovery Act last March. Since President Obama signed ARRA into law in February, grants totaling more than $7.2 NJ Transit, New Jersey: $250,000.
