The Volt is the plug-in hybrid car GM showed at last January’s Detroit Auto Show. At that point, the internal combustion engine kicks in and recharges the battery while you are driving. While you are working, the battery is also recharging. Imagine using your laptop computer on a battery. It runs down.

The Saturn version of the two-mode plug-in hybrid at the Milford Proving Grounds. As part of the culling, GM has the option to re-badge vehicles from the non-core brands, such as the Pontiac G8, Opel Insignia and Saturn Vue. I was able to spend 10 minutes driving a Saturn Aura sedan with an (HCCI) engine system. by Bill Cooke.

The fuel engine on the Volt is used to run the generator to recharge the battery when a trip exceeds 40 miles, and it’s rage on a full tank is around 400 miles. April 18, 2009 1:40 am Link I drive a Saturn SL1 that has over 300K miles on it. How about using a competition sailplane for comparison, instead?
