Cadillac will add a Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV) propulsion system to its upcoming range-topping CT6 sedan, to be manufactured at the new Shanghai GM Cadillac plant, Pudong Jinqiao, China. Volkswagen’s regular GTE models can be driven approximately 32 miles (52 km) in all-electric mode. GTE versions are conceivable in all vehicle classes, as demonstrated with the Cross Coupe GTE SUV concept vehicle that was shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. l/100 km (118 mpg US), or 46 g CO 2 /km.

At the 2010 SAE World Congress in Detroit, Delphi Corp. have agreed to work together to develop, manufacture and sell SAE J1772-compliant, UL-listed charging systems for all-electric vehicles (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). kWh lithium-ion battery which provides a range of 90-120 miles.

Like the Volt, they are shooting for a 300 mile range with the first 40 miles all electric. Looks like most of the battery EV makers are shooting for a 100-150 mile range, with Tesla shooting for over 200. The PHEV people are aiming at the 40 mile all electric range. The MiEV runs on a lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged in seven or so hours on a 240-volt line. They are also useless if you ever need to drive over 100 to 200 miles in one trip.
