But no matter where we went, we could not escape one thing: the goddamn thermostat. This needed to be an easy DIY project, a quick upgrade. A startup was not the plan. The plan was a break. A long one. We traveled all over the globe and worked hard not to think about work. Soon our testers reported in: Installation went fine.

The thing that escaped my planning was in planning for the holes in the iron to match up with the hold downs for the batteries. If I were a better engineer, or designer I could have planned for a standard length of these connectors. I alternated the rows of angle iron (20g garage mounting material that is perforated at 1? in the end.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. The nonprofit CalCars does conversions to demonstrate new designs and provide a platform for different batteries; we dont sell conversions. The kit is designed so the batteries can be upgraded to lithium-phosphate.)

The Maverick EcoBoost was not designed to be a heavy-duty work truck, but more for the weekend warrior/home owner doing DIY projects or used for active lifestyles for activities such as biking and kayaking. There is rear under-seat storage, and a clever design on the front doors to accommodate a large drink bottle or cup.

Ford has cleverly designed some helpful features that make the short, four-foot bed very livable.
