If I could just connect the HVAC system to my iPhone, I could control it from anywhere. But no matter where we went, we could not escape one thing: the goddamn thermostat. It connected to your phone. This needed to be an easy DIY project, a quick upgrade. Then on Monday I’d go back to Apple and work on the first iPhone.

The thing that escaped my planning was in planning for the holes in the iron to match up with the hold downs for the batteries. If I were a better engineer, or designer I could have planned for a standard length of these connectors.
