AeroVironment has installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Marriott Waikiki in Hawaii. The new chargers are part of Hawaii’s growing charging infrastructure currently being deployed to support electric vehicles. In March of this year AeroVironment received a $820,000 contract from the Hawaii EV Ready Grants Program.

Now dealers will have the ability to allow consumers to form their own opinions of the Volt through test drives and demonstrations. In the first quarter of 2011, approximately 550 demonstration Volts will be delivered to Chevy dealers. We know the best way to experience the Volt is to get behind the wheel and drive it.

Customers nationwide will be able to order Volts with participating dealers beginning in the second quarter. Deliveries will begin in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii in the third quarter. Customer deliveries in Michigan begin this spring.

Toyota has reduced the MSRP on the 2014 Prius Plug-in Hybrid by more than $2,000, making the starting MSRP $29,990 (excluding dealer preparation and handling, DPH). When it first went on sale, the Kia Soul EV electric car was only available at select dealers in California. Earlier this year, Kia announced the expansion of sales to Oregon, Washington, Georgia, Texas, and Hawaii. But Kia later followed up on a promise to expand sales when it determined that there was significant interest.
