Starting this year, the Clean Vehicle Credit for new or used EVs can now be applied at the point of sale. These tax credits, worth up to $7,500 and up to $4,000, respectively, can be used as a down payment on a vehicle, helping to lower your monthly payments if you get financing. Don’t block the charging station.

4 does currently qualify for the full $7,500 US federal EV tax credit – the only car made by a foreign automaker to qualify, due to local production in Chattanooga, Tennessee – and the credit is now available upfront at the point of sale. 4 does also qualify for the full federal tax credit, bringing the price down to ~$38k.

Level 2 chargers can either plug into a 240 volt electrical outlet, or they can be directly wired into an existing electrical system. How full/empty the vehicle’s battery is at plug-in.
