Ford to Invest $450M in New Passenger Vehicle Plant in Thailand

Ford Motor Company is investing US$450 million (THB 15 billion) in a new passenger vehicle manufacturing plant in Rayong, Thailand, scheduled for completion in 2012. The facility will begin building the next-generation Ford Focus in 2012 for Thailand and other markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Aussie electric truck maker SEA joins the race to build a Toyota Hilux EV

SEA Electric Asia-Pacific chief Bill Gillespie flew back into Australia last weekend fresh from discussions with Toyota in Thailand that included a proposal to build a battery electric version of Australia’s top-selling vehicle. SEA also has its own dealer network in Australia through which it could sell its EV ute.
