Charging An 800v electric architecture allows the RS to DC fast charge at a claimed rate up to 270kW when the battery is low. Under WLTP it drops to 455km. Average consumption is claimed to be 20.2kWh per 100km (NEDC).

The panels generate DC current that varies with the solar power. The inverter converts the DC solar into AC power that can power the house or be directed back into the Grid as well as connecting up the Battery packs that uses 48 Volt DC. . It appears that few people, especially those in the mainstream media, understand the basic physics underlying fast charging, so I though it would be a good idea to review this and its implications for electric vehicle infrastructure. Let’s consider a simple example, say an EV conversion that has a 120V pack and a range of around 30 miles.

The bigger battery brings no extra power or performance, but its DC charging capacity is up to 150kW rather than the Standard Range’s up to 130kW. Toby Hagon’s AWD review found the occasional “scrabble for traction” even with the Performance Pack’s sportier Continental rubber.

Then consider that in order to actually go any farther than the neighbood store, one still had to have ANOTHER car. A simple, clean, efficient EV that wont run out of juice because of its on-board gas generator. So just use a portable electric generator in the trunk, from the hardware store to charge the batteries while you drive.
